John Ciroli
Chief Legal Officer (CLO) & Secretary

John Ciroli is Montauk Renewables’ Chief Legal Officer. He leads the company’s Legal team and its legal strategies. This includes the company’s corporate governance, securities and corporate finance, commercial, litigation, competition and antitrust, compliance, privacy, environmental, labor and employment, and intellectual property legal issues and work. John joined Montauk in 2020 and played a crucial role in the company’s NASDAQ IPO in 2021 and navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining Montauk, John served as North American Legal Counsel and HR Director at HUB Parking Technology Inc. and FAAC International USA, as Senior Litigation Counsel for the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, and as a Professor at Concord Law School.

John holds a Juris Doctor from Capital University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University.

Sharon R. Frank

Michael Barsch
Vice President Business Development
Mr. Michael Barsch has served as Montauk’s Vice President of Business Development since September 2023. Mr. Barsch previously served as Montauk’s Director of Projects from January to September 2023. Prior to joining Montauk, Mr. Barsch was Vice President of Construction for a renewable energy producer, and a renewable energy consultant from March 2019 to February 2021. Mr. Barsch was also Vice President of Projects for Energy Developments Limited, a renewable energy producer, from March 2016 to March 2019, and from November 2013 to March 2016, he was Managing Director of Construction for Renewable Energy Trust Capital. Mr. Barsch has over 25 years of experience managing the construction of renewable energy projects in the US and abroad.
